CGC Trust — Caddie Welfare at Chikmagalur Golf Club
The CGC Trust was established to bring the same caddie welfare model pioneered by the Crow Trust at Bangalore Golf Club to Chikmagalur Golf Club — extending the impact of structured support to another community of golf caddies and their families.
What the trust covers
- Education — school fees for children of caddies and club staff
- Healthcare — insurance policy for families
- Livelihood training — skill-building programmes for staff and family members
- Staff accommodation — basic stay facilities at CGC campus, now operational since September 2025
The CGC Trust works in close collaboration with the Crow Trust at Bangalore Golf Club, which serves as the model framework developed under the patronage of Mahendran Balachandran and supported by Towards Equal Foundation.
Why caddies Golf caddies are among the most overlooked workers in Indian sport. Their children often lack access to quality education, and their families have little or no healthcare coverage. The CGC Trust addresses these gaps directly — creating a platform for upward mobility for a community that has long been excluded from the prosperity it helps generate.
