VOSD — Building India's Largest Canine Welfare Network
Voice of Stray Dogs (VOSD) is a Bangalore-based animal welfare organisation that has built what is now recognised as India’s largest canine referral hospital and permanent sanctuary for rescued and special-needs dogs.
The City of Dogs VOSD’s flagship sanctuary in Bangalore provides permanent shelter, medical care, rehabilitation, and lifelong care to over 1,700 special-needs and rescued dogs who have no other home. This includes dogs that have been abandoned, abused, injured, or failed in adoption — animals that would otherwise have no path to safety.
India’s largest canine referral hospital Operating as part of the VOSD sanctuary, the hospital delivers free, high-quality medical treatment daily — from trauma care and orthopaedic surgery to specialist treatment for cruelty survivors, blind dogs, and terminally ill animals. It is one of the few facilities in India offering this level of care entirely free of charge.
Nationwide rescue operations VOSD conducts high-severity rescue operations across India — including emergency missions and long-distance transports by road, rail, and air from over 30 cities to the sanctuary. Each rescue represents an animal in critical need with nowhere else to go.
TEF’s partnership TEF has been a major infrastructure partner for VOSD, supporting both the construction of a new animal hospital in Indiranagar and the expansion of shelter capacity to house the thousands of strays under VOSD’s permanent care.
